The worst teacher dream ever

Wait for it!  Wait for it!  Last night I dreamed that I attended an inservice.  I am retired, and I dreamed that I attended a really long inservice.

I even remember the presenter.  She was one of the main gurus for our district, and everybody loved her.  At least I didn't dream about one of those boring inservices that seemed to last forever.

At the end of the session, she and I discussed her evaluations.  I don't remember ever evaluating an inservice presenter, but in the dream, it seemed to be a normal routine.  The interesting part is that her evaluations weren't very good, and she seemed disappointed.

I am up and running for sub jobs, but inservices?  No way.  Wait a minute.  I do have one scheduled.  I guess the fun never stops.:)

You don't get to evaluate inservice presenters?  We always do...and I always take the time to enjoy the process!  It's fun to cause an upheaval by calling out terrible presenters, quoting their patronizing comments, and explaining why they shouldn't be wasting our time.

Maybe it's time to lay off the pizza and nachos before bed?  :)

We were never allowed to evaluate inservice presenters.  You might be right about the pizza and nachos.  Something has to give!

It's funny that you're still having back-to-school dreams, even though you're retired.  I guess once the kids get into your head, they're hard to get rid of.  :)

My first back-to-school dream this year was about me not being prepared on the first day.  In my dream I sort of put a plan together and tried to wing-it.  It was all going okay until this particular kid, let's call him Kenny, started acting up.  In my dream I remembered that his previous teacher had said to be extra firm with him and that he'd quickly fall into line...unfortunately, it didn't work and he continued to act up.  :(

Ironically enough, when I went into my classroom this week for the first time since June, my updated class roster didn't include Kenny anymore.  He moved to another school this summer!

Interesting. I'm new to the school scene. My son just started kindergarten. I've already gotten to volunteer once collating math lessons. The link to his school's site is http://tinyurl.com/christianschool
